Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026 · Last updated: 12 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the LockDuck Android app ("LockDuck", "the app", "we") handles information. In short: LockDuck does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal information. Everything the app stores stays on the device it is installed on.

1. Who we are

LockDuck is published by LockDuck ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@lockduck.com.

2. Information we do not collect

LockDuck has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. The app does not include analytics or tracking tools, and it does not request internet access permission. We do not collect names, emails, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or device identifiers, and we do not read the content of any other app.

3. Information stored on your device

To work, the app keeps the following in private app storage on the device. It is never sent to us or any third party:

You can erase this data at any time using Reset progress in Parent Settings, by clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling the app.

4. Android permissions and why we use them

Permission / featurePurpose
Usage AccessLets the app see which app is currently in front, so it can lock apps the parent has chosen to block. Usage data is processed on the device and is not stored or sent anywhere.
Display over other appsShows the lock screen on top of a blocked app.
Accessibility serviceUsed only to learn which app window is on screen (for example in split-screen or floating windows) so a blocked app cannot be used while sharing the screen. The service is configured not to read screen content, text or anything typed. It reads only the package name of the app window, and nothing is recorded or transmitted.
Device administratorOptional. Makes it harder to uninstall LockDuck without the parent's knowledge. It does not give us any access to the device's data and does not allow us to lock, wipe or monitor the device.
Notifications / foreground serviceAndroid requires a visible notification while the lock guard is running in the background.
Run at startupRestarts the guard after the phone reboots.

5. Children's privacy

LockDuck is operated by parents on a child's device. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, there is no child data for us to hold, use or disclose. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). If you believe a child's information has reached us, please contact support@lockduck.com.

6. Third parties

We do not share data with third parties because we do not receive any. The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect its own information, such as installs, crash reports and ratings, under Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over that.

7. Security

Because data never leaves the device, it is protected by the device's own security (screen lock, encryption) and by the Android app sandbox. The parent PIN protects access to settings within the app. No system is perfectly secure, and a determined user with device access may still find ways around parental controls.

8. Future changes

If we add features that need internet access, such as downloading new question packs, we will update this policy before release and explain what is fetched. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date.

9. Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You remain in full control of the on-device data (see section 3). For any privacy question or request, email support@lockduck.com.
