LockDuck locks the apps you choose until your child answers a few quick questions. Less mindless scrolling, a little learning every day.
Set it up once, then let it run quietly in the background.
Choose YouTube, Instagram, games, anything that eats the evening. Settings are protected by your PIN.
When they open a guarded app they get quick questions: maths, science, GK, English and puzzles.
You decide how many minutes each quiz is worth. When time is up, the lock comes back.
The things parents actually ask for.
Questions are generated fresh every time, so your child never runs out and never just memorises answers.
Topics your child finds tricky come back more often. Ones they've mastered take a break.
Shrinking an app into a floating or picture-in-picture window doesn't dodge the lock.
Choose how many minutes 3, 5, 10 or 20 correct answers are worth.
See which subjects are strong, what was missed most and how the streak is going.
The guard restarts when the phone does, and uninstalling it needs a deliberate extra step.
Pick which subjects appear. Mix and match for each child.
LockDuck has no accounts and doesn't ask for internet access, so nothing about your child leaves their phone.

Android phones. We're testing across several brands including Google Pixel, Vivo and OnePlus. An iPhone version isn't available yet.
LockDuck uses Android's Device Administrator option, so uninstalling requires turning that off first. A determined child can still find ways, so LockDuck works best alongside a conversation about screen time.
Each one has a single job: seeing which app is open, showing the lock on top of it, keeping the guard running and restarting after a reboot. The Accessibility service never reads what's on screen. See the privacy policy for details.
No. There are no accounts and no analytics, and the app doesn't have internet permission. Progress is stored only on the phone.
It's free during the beta. We'll share pricing before the public launch.
Maths and puzzles are generated on the spot. Other subjects use a growing question bank, and the app tracks what your child has already seen so repeats are limited.
LockDuck is in closed testing on Google Play. Public release is coming soon. Ask for beta access and we'll be in touch.
